From a Family Business to a Publicly Listed Energy Giant
How Solcellekraft manages liquidity and meets strict reporting requirements with Kravia and Tripletex.

One of Norway’s Fastest-Growing Companies
It took just two years from Solcellekraft’s founding in 2017 until the company won its first tender. After that, projects quickly began to pour in. Today, Solcellekraft is among Norway’s most experienced solar energy providers, with around 50 employees.
“We deliver solar installations to everyone from private homeowners to major corporate clients such as Statsbygg and Veidekke,” explains CFO Mads Lie.
He is one of four brothers working in their father’s solar company. The family business entered the market at exactly the right time. High electricity prices and a growing focus on renewable energy created strong conditions for growth.
This momentum led Solcellekraft to be named national winner of the DN Gazelle Award in 2023, which recognises Norway’s fastest-growing companies. That same year, the company was acquired by the international, publicly listed energy group DCC plc.

Solcellekraft delivers solutions ranging from residential installations to large commercial projects.
“Many customers are looking for security of supply. If you have a solar installation with battery storage and the power goes out, we can ensure that you still have electricity,” explains CFO Mads Lie.
Meeting Strict Reporting Requirements with Tripletex
The transition from a family-owned business to part of a publicly listed group brought significantly stricter reporting requirements. In addition to ESG reporting (environmental, social and governance), there are also high demands for how quickly financial data must be prepared and reported.
“Tripletex is a key part of the solution. The system is set up correctly, and we can automate a large number of processes, allowing everything to run smoothly and efficiently,” says Mads.
Having the entire finance function gathered in a single platform provides both overview and control.
“Everything is in Tripletex. Depreciation runs automatically, inventory is managed in a dedicated module, and payroll and time tracking are handled in the same system as accounting.”

Solcellekraft has consolidated its entire finance function in Tripletex, including inventory and procurement. With Kravia, payment follow-up is fully automated.
Seamless Debt Collection with Kravia
When Solcellekraft switched debt collection partner to Kravia, which is integrated with Tripletex, the difference compared to their previous solution was immediately noticeable.
“Previously, we had to send emails to notify that a case was ready for collection. Now we simply choose to send it to collection when we see it, and Kravia takes care of the rest,” Mads explains.
The integration automatically handles everything from identifying unpaid invoices to generating accounting entries, while providing full status visibility directly in Tripletex.
“If we want more details, we can easily log into Kravia’s portal and access information about individual cases. At the same time, we’ve seen real cost savings in both time and money,” says Mads.
Once Kravia receives a case, they ensure early dialogue and professional follow-up, treating customers with care throughout the entire process.
Batteries and European Expansion
For Solcellekraft, the growth years leading up to 2023 were characterised by high electricity prices and a strong focus on the green transition. Mads explains that the market has now entered a more stable phase, and that the company is looking ahead to new strategic initiatives.

With the transition to a publicly listed group, Solcellekraft has faced stricter reporting requirements. The integration between Tripletex and Kravia gives the company full financial oversight and control.
“Many customers are looking for security of supply. If you have a solar installation with battery storage and the power goes out, we can ensure that you still have electricity.”
The company has recently expanded into Denmark, with Sweden as the next step. As part of the Irish energy giant DCC plc and the shared WeWise brand, Solcellekraft is well positioned for continued growth across Europe.
“DCC’s goal is to help customers transition from fossil to renewable energy. We are part of that solution,” Mads concludes.
