Football Shirt Friday is the day when smart shirts and jackets make way for club badges and colourful football kits at Kravia’s office. It is, without a doubt, one of our absolute favourite traditions of the year.

For many of us, Fridays are all about that weekend feeling and a Friday coffee break, but one Friday every spring, the break room is transformed into an arena for passionate football debates. Spotting everything from Allsvenskan classics to major international clubs in the corridors, there’s naturally plenty of good-natured banter by the coffee machine over which team actually has the best-looking shirt.

But behind the colours and the rivalry lies a shared goal that is far more important than three points in the weekend's fixtures.

A tradition that makes a difference

Football Shirt Friday is an initiative started by the Swedish Child Cancer Foundation (Barncancerfonden) to shine a spotlight on the fight against childhood cancer. The concept is as simple as it is brilliant: wear your favourite team’s shirt to work, share the team spirit on social media, and donate to vital research.

For us at Kravia, this has become an essential tradition. Every day, we are driven by making the complicated simple for our customers, but today we want to use our platform to make it simple to contribute to something bigger. Children and cancer simply do not belong together.

Everyone plays for the same team

The most beautiful part of this day is seeing how the usual boundaries fade away. No matter which team you support, we are all playing for the exact same team when it truly matters.
